Teens
WHAT TEENS SAY:
  • Ronin E., high school student"
When I first met Mrs. Smith I was a sophomore in high school. I was a lost kid who had no self esteem or confidence. She supported me with her wisdom, guidance, tough love, and example. Because of her guidance I am a much better man today. Meeting with a life coach can be a blessing because many students don’t feel comfortable talking with their parents or even their closest friends. I learned that it's ok to have hang ups, but it's best to address them when you’re young so that they don’t control you down the line.
  • Taylor M., high school student"
I remember I thought the world was coming down on me. It was suggested that I chat Mrs. Smith...I was reluctant since I hated talking to people about how I felt. Mrs Smith was different though, she allowed me to talk about so many things and I had never felt so comfortable in my life. I struggled in my faith, with my family, and with who I was as a man. The greatest thing I can say about her is that I was never forced to do anything, information and scripture weren’t crammed down my throat. She gave me her personal life stories and related them to mine. She challenged me to get into the Word while sharing how Christ can change lives. She was the greatest role model to have. Now I can proudly say I have graduated high school and am serving our country in the military. Best of all, my relationship with God has tremendously changed, my relationship with my family is 1000x better, and I can proudly say that I have learned what a real man is. Mrs Smith was the baseline for all of this and she continues to support me in everything, always inviting me to church, constantly keeping in touch with me, and constantly reminds me that she is still praying for me. I would not be where I am in life right now if it wasn’t for her.
  • Josselyn M., high school student"
I had experienced traumatic events and I needed help in telling my parents. Mrs. Smith welcomed me into her office and made me feel comfortable. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to take the next step I needed to move forward in my life. Mrs. Smith provided me with a different outlook on life while supporting me through my trauma. I'm thankful I had someone to talk to when I didn't know where to turn.
  • Tarilinn N., high school student"
Through life coaching, I feel like I gained clarity in the path God has for me. Oftentimes, I would begin to question my actions and feel lost in tough situations. Meeting with a life coach gave me a new perspective and allowed me to see them through God's lenses. Having someone to talk to has made me more confident and has helped me manage my emotions more efficiently.
  • Adriana G., high school student"
For me, high school was a rough time. I was dealing with the normal pressures of bing a teen, changing friendships, social pressures, and family struggles. I often found myself overwhelmed and in need of someone to talk to outside of my family. Mrs. Smith came alongside of me and made me feel like my voice was heard. She walked with me through my darkest times and always validated what I was feeling. She had a huge impact on my life and always encouraged me to lean on Christ. She was part of the reason I ended up giving my life to the Lord my senior year of high school. Without her, guidance and support I would not be the person I am today nor would I feel equipped to walk through the struggles life has thrown my way.
